NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 3, 2025 / Delta Dental of Virginia ("DDVA") recently suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health information of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to DDVA.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On or around April 23, 2025, Delta Dental of Virginia discovered suspicious activity on its network. Upon detection, DDVA launched an investigation with the assistance of independent cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that certain emails and attachments were accessed and potentially acquired without authorization between March 21, 2025, and April 23, 2025.
The impacted data may include names, Social Security numbers, state or federal government issued ID numbers, and protected health information.
Upon completion of this review, DDVA began sending notice letters to impacted individuals in November 2025.Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
