NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 1, 2025 / Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC ("Merck") recently suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal information entrusted to Merck.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On September 22, 2025, Merck was informed by Graebel Companies, Inc. that it had identified Merck data within files impacted by a security incident in its systems.
After receiving this information from Graebel, Merck performed an internal review and, on October 20, 2025, determined that certain Merck current and former employees’ personal information was included in the data impacted by Graebel’s security incident. On November 7, 2025, Merck began notifying affected employees.
The impacted data may include names and financial account information.
On November 17, 2025, Merck filed a notice with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
