NEW YORK, NY / ACCESS Newswire / November 21, 2025 / Sun Valley Surgery Center ("SVSC") recently suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health information of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to SVSC.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On September 3, 2025, Sun Valley Surgery Center became aware of a security incident on its information systems. Upon detection, SVSC launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cyber security experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to sensitive personal and protected health information in Sun Valley Surgery Center’s systems.
The impacted data may include names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state-issued ID information, health insurance information, MRN number or patient identification numbers, explanation of benefits, health history, and treatment and diagnosis information.
On September 18, 2025, Sun Valley Surgery Center filed a notice with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and may soon begin sending notice letters to impacted individuals. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
