WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On March 17, 2025, Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services, LLC ("Mountain West") became aware of unauthorized access to several of its email accounts. Upon detection, Mountain West launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that certain emails may have been accessed or acquired without authorization.
The impacted data may include full names, in combination with Social Security numbers, dates of birth, US driver license numbers, financial account numbers, financial account access information, payment card numbers, payment card access information, passport numbers, electronic signatures, medical information, and health insurance information.
On September 22, 2025, Mountain West mailed notice letters to affected individuals and publicly disclosed the breach. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised.
