MorseLife Delivers Rosh Hashanah Meals to Homebound Jewish Seniors Across Palm Beach County

Continuing a 28-year legacy of compassionate service through its Mitzvah Program

MorseLife, a nationally recognized, award-winning leader in senior care, is pleased to announce that on September 19, 2025, it successfully carried out its annual Rosh Hashanah Mitzvah Program. Through Meals-On-Wheels, employee volunteers delivered traditional kosher holiday meals to the sweeping senior Jewish community across Palm Beach County, enabling them to participate in the Jewish New Year from the comfort of their home.

This year marks the 28th anniversary of MorseLife's meal delivery program. The program delivers twice a year for the High Holidays and Passover, offering kosher meals to seniors who may not have access to nourishing, traditional meals and social connection during the holiday. Today, MorseLife has over 100 volunteers and delivers over 50,000 Meals-on-Wheels annually to seniors across the county, including Holocaust survivors.

Keith Myers, President and CEO of MorseLife, said, “The Mitzvah Program reflects our unwavering commitment to serving older adults with dignity, respect, and compassion. This commitment is woven into the very fabric of our culture here at MorseLife, guiding everything we do daily to enrich the lives of seniors, honor their heritage, and support their well-being. We are grateful to our volunteers and the generosity of our community, whose partnership helps to ensure that the senior Jewish community feels connected during the High Holidays.”

MorseLife recognizes the commitment of longtime volunteers, such as Stanley M. Katz, a 95 year-old resident who created the Mitzvah Program with his wife, Marilyn Katz, based on a similar program in New York that they were involved with, which served homebound Jewish seniors. Mr. and Mrs. Katz have participated for 28 consecutive years, delivering meals alongside family and other community members spanning several generations. These multi-generational volunteer teams embody the enduring value of service and tradition.

Mr. Katz said, “Delivering Mitzvah meals has become an annual tradition for my family. With each Rosh Hashanah, I'm reminded how a simple act-bringing a warm holiday meal and a friendly word to someone's door-can transform both our days. Taking part in this program connects individuals in our community to our heritage and to something larger than ourselves, year after year.”
