The Frederick Flying Cows are officially two months away from hostingCowfest, an outdoor fall festival that promises to be one of the most memorable community events of the season. On Sunday, October 26, from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds, the Flying Cows will welcome families, fans, and festivalgoers for an afternoon of live entertainment, seasonal fun, and an ambitious attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as cows. The current record stands at 1,352 participants, and the Flying Cows are inviting the community to help put Frederick in the record books.

Far more than just a record attempt, Cowfest will showcase the best of Frederick's community spirit and creativity. Live music will take center stage with performances from The Let There Be Rock School and more, bringing high-energy sets that will keep the crowd moving all afternoon. The “Running of the Cows” fun run, presented in partnership with Charm City Run, will add a playful and active twist, while families can enjoy the Udder Fun Kid Zone filled with games and activities for children, along with a festive “Moo or Treat” to celebrate Halloween early. Attendees will also have the chance to meet special surprise guests.
Food lovers can explore a wide variety of options from local food trucks and sweet treat vendors, and guests 21 and over can enjoy the Moo & Brew Garden featuring Brewer's Alley, McClintock Distilling, and other regional favorites. With its blend of music, food, family attractions, and once-in-a-lifetime record-breaking ambition, Cowfest promises to be more than just Frederick's signature fall event-it's poised to be one of the standout community festivals anywhere this year.
