Going Unveils First-Ever 2025 Flight Deal Awards

Recognizing the best and worst airports and airlines for scoring flight deals

Going today announced the launch of its inaugural 2025 Flight Deal Awards, a new annual ranking recognizing the top-performing U.S. airports and airlines for airfare value. Based on proprietary deal data across thousands of routes, the awards identify where travelers are finding the most affordable and most frequent flight deals, and where deals are harder to come by.

“National Cheap Flight Day might be one trendy holiday on the August calendar, but for us and our Going members, every day is National Cheap Flight Day,” said Going travel expert Katy Nastro. “In the past 12 months, we've sent 80,000 deals to more than 200 airports around the country on dozens of airlines. The team has pored over the data and is thrilled to reveal airports and airlines that offer some of the best value for travelers out there. And, based on our deal scoring technology, we know that any deal we send to our members is better than 95% of all fares, meaning we really know a great price when we see one.”

Best Value Airports

Based on the lowest average deal price, three airports stood out in the past year for domestic travel:

— Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC): average deal price $146 (45% off)1

— Tampa International Airport (TPA): average deal price $151 (46% off)1

— Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL): average deal price $153 (47% off)1

“These airports have consistently offered some of the best-priced flights for a variety of reasons. With Salt Lake City's rapid growth and new airline additions, Tampa's billion-dollar expansion, and growing low-cost carrier competition at the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta. They've all helped get people going more affordably,” said Nastro.

The top U.S. airports for best international value include:

— Orlando International Airport (MCO): average deal price $418 (48% off)

— Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): average deal price $438 (52% off)

— New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): average deal price $442 (52% off)

Airports with the Most Flight Deals

The airports with the highest volume of domestic flight deals owe most of their success to strong service from low-cost carriers, whose frequent routes and competitive pricing drive savings. Each of these airports averaged nearly three flight deals per week in the Going app from 40% to 90% off typical prices:

— Tampa International Airport (TPA) best deal: Tampa to Boston for $77 roundtrip on JetBlue

— Orlando International Airport (MCO) best deal: Orlando to Raleigh for $58 roundtrip on Breeze Airways

— Denver International Airport (DEN) best deal: Denver to Indianapolis for $53 roundtrip on Southwest

Major airline hubs with broad international networks, ongoing route expansion, and recent infrastructure upgrades saw the highest volume of international flight deals. Each of these airports averaged more than six flight deals per week in the app from 40% to 90% off typical prices:

— New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) best deal: New York City to Florence, Italy for $344 (63% off) on ITA Airways

— Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) best deal: Boston to Mykonos, Greece for $468 (52% off) on British Airways

— Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) best deal: Los Angeles to Tulum, Mexico for $271 (56% off) on American Airlines

Not all airports are created equal when it comes to deal volume. According to Going's analysis, these airports had the fewest domestic deals in the past year:

— Baltimore/Washington (BWI)

— George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH)

— Chicago Midway (MDW)

Top Airlines for Deals

To rank airlines by deal quality, Going analyzed all deals sent over the past 12 months and applied its proprietary Going Grade, a scoring system that measures how far below typical market prices each fare falls.2 This system accounts for millions of real-time airfare data points, allowing for a standardized comparison across routes. Airlines were ranked based on the average Going Grade across all their deals, with top performers offering not just frequent discounts, but the deepest and most reliable savings compared to normal fares. Even among the lowest-ranked airlines, great deals were still available on the Going app, just fewer and shallower discounts compared to the top-ranked airlines.

— Southwest

— American Airlines

— United Airlines

— Delta Air Lines

— JetBlue Airlines

— Alaska Airlines & Hawaiian

Pro Tip: Expand Your Airport Horizons

Too many travelers limit themselves to just one home airport. Going encourages travelers to add nearby departure airports in the Going app to catch more deals and maximize their trip potential. A short drive, train or positioning flight can unlock hundreds in savings, especially when paired with Going's personalized Flight Alerts, which allow members to track specific routes and be notified of price drops.

“The biggest mistake travelers make is picking the destination before the deal. The second-biggest mistake is flying from only one airport,” said Scott Keyes, founder and chief flight expert at Going.

Going analyzed thousands of deals across U.S. airports between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Each deal featured in the Going app represents savings of 30-90% off typical fares, with an average of 45% off typical fares. This list focuses specifically on large airports that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) defines as receiving 1% or more of the annual U.S. commercial enplanements. To be eligible, airports must have received at least one deal per week on average during the analysis period. Airline rankings are based on Going's proprietary Going Grade, which factors in deal frequency, quality, and average savings compared to typical market fares. 2The ranking for Top Airlines for Deals includes only full-service U.S. carriers. Budget airlines like Breeze and Avelo were excluded to allow for a direct comparison among legacy and full-service airlines.
