He previously served as Vice President and Legal Counsel for Panera Bread Company, where he oversaw all legal matters related to the company's real estate portfolio and new restaurant development.

At Panera Bread, Barth played a key role in supporting the expansion of one of North America's most recognized restaurant brands, navigating issues ranging from real estate development and labor policy to the legal implications of automation and third-party delivery models. During his 21-year tenure at Panera, the company grew from approximately 400 bakery café restaurants to more than 2,000 company-owned or franchised locations in the U.S. and Canada. Specifically, he played a key role in real estate site selection, lease and purchase negotiations, due diligence, design, and construction of over 500 new Panera Bread restaurants.
Prior to joining Panera Bread Company in 2004, Barth served for six years as Director and Legal Counsel for Dunkin' Brands, parent company of the Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin Robbins restaurant chains, where he was responsible for legal matters related to new restaurant development and real estate asset management for over 1,500 owned and leased properties. Before that, he was Assistant General Counsel for J. Baker, Inc., parent company of the Casual Male, Work N Gear and Parade of Shoes retail chains. He started his career at McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton.

Outside of work, Barth is an adjunct professor at Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration, where he has taught Hospitality Law since 2020. He serves on the Advisory Committees of the CJP's Schecter Holocaust Services and the Paul Revere Museum of Discovery and Innovation. He has been involved for many years with Cycle for Survival, an organization that raises money for rare cancer research. He has served for 10 years on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Sharon, MA.
Barth received his J.D., with honors, from the George Washington University National Law Center where he was a member of the George Washington Journal of International Law and Economics, and his B.A., cum laude, from Brandeis University.
