NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 28, 2025 / New American Funding, LLC recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive, personal and protected health data of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal information entrusted to New American Funding.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On June 6, 2025, New American Funding, LLC became aware of a security incident affecting its third-party vendor, Mobile Notary Zone (MNZ), which provided notary services in connection with loan closing documents. Upon detection, New American Funding launched an internal investigation. MNZ indicated that an unauthorized actor gained access to its systems containing consumer data belonging to New American Funding.
The impacted files may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, and other personal financial information.
On July 11, 2025, New American Funding filed a notice with California’s Attorney General and began notifying impacted individuals. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
