“Boundless Futures Foundation is committed to eliminating barriers for female founders,” said Co-Founder Soon Hagerty.
This round of EmpowHer grantees includes a company that turns discarded ski and snowboard gear into upcycled carry bags, a company that works with Pakistani artisans to create home décor using 100% natural stone, and a mini donut company that is committed to helping fund charities and community projects.
Since its inception in late 2023, Boundless Futures Foundation has awarded $610,000 in EmpowHer grants to 42 female company founders across the country, and $240,000 in Her Village grants to nonprofits that support female entrepreneurs.
“Boundless Futures Foundation is committed to eliminating barriers for female founders,” said Soon Hagerty, co-founder and president, Boundless Futures Foundation. “We do this in many ways including providing funding along with business coaching, mentorship and leadership guidance, all aimed at assisting female founders in creating businesses that are for both growth and good.”
Each of the grantees is a female entrepreneur in the early stages of starting a business that addresses a social issue or has a purpose-driven concept embedded in its business model. The grant recipients are carefully selected business owners who align with Boundless Futures Foundation's mission to empower and uplift female entrepreneurs dedicated to solving social problems.
EmpowHer Grant Recipients (In Alphabetical Order)
— BirdieBlue (Morristown, Vt.) was founded by Kate Harvey. The company turns discarded ski and snowboard gear into upcycled carry bags, keeping old clothes and discarded fabrics out of the landfill while creating flexible, fair-wage jobs for women in rural communities. Everything from the bags' fabric to the zippers is made of upcycled, recycled and/or compostable materials. The company will receive a $25,000 grant.
— Mini Donut Diva (Boston, Mass.), a made-to-order mini donut shop, was founded by Melissa Frettoloso. The company supports community causes through donations and is forming a foundation to expand its charitable impact. The company will receive a $15,000 grant.
— SAÉA (San Diego, Calif.) was founded by Shezal Babar. The company works with Pakistani artisans to create home décor using natural stone that is finished and packaged without plastics or harmful treatments. SAÉA donates to nonprofits in the San Diego area. The company will receive a $25,000 grant.
Each of the grantees is embraced by an Advisory Circle of seasoned female entrepreneurs who provide optional resources including leadership development, skills-building assistance, mentorship and networking opportunities.
In addition, Boundless Futures Foundation and 2025 Her Village grantee Kiva are announcing that a new co-sponsored impact survey to gauge the effects of social entrepreneurs, specifically women founders, and their significance on society, will be released in early 2026. In March, Boundless Futures Foundation awarded a $100,000 Her Village grant to Kiva, a global nonprofit unlocking capital through crowdfunded loans for individuals and entrepreneurs. The transformative grant will spark the growth of women-founded businesses across the U.S. that also address social or environmental issues.
