“My most important role as CEO is to identify and empower leaders who will uphold our brand values, drive performance, and guide the company into the future,” said John Ling, Chief Executive Officer of MacKenzie-Childs. “I am pleased to welcome Kristen Schrieber to our leadership team and to promote Margaret Wakeland into her new role as our companies first ever Chief Merchandising Officer-two individuals whose talents and experience will be instrumental in shaping the next chapter of our growth.”
Kristen Schrieber has joined MacKenzie-Childs as CFO, bringing extensive leadership experience from M.M. LaFleur, LOFT, American Express, Kearney, and Wells Fargo. At M.M. LaFleur, she oversaw Finance, Accounting, Planning, and eCommerce. In her new role, Schrieber will lead financial planning and analysis, partner with Product Development and Commercial teams to optimize inventory and gross margin and support smarter investment and capital deployment across the business.
“I am thrilled to join the exceptional team at MacKenzie-Childs as Chief Financial Officer, especially at such an exciting time of growth and creativity,” said Kristen Schrieber, Chief Financial Officer of MacKenzie-Childs. “I look forward to partnering across the organization to enhance financial discipline, support innovation, and drive smart, sustainable growth.”
Margaret Wakeland, who joined MacKenzie-Childs in 2021, most recently served as Vice President of E-Commerce, Retention Marketing, and Amazon, playing a key role in expanding the brand's digital presence. With over 20 years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, and marketing-including leadership roles at Macy's and retail startups-she is now stepping into her new role as MacKenzie-Child's first ever Chief Merchandising Officer. Wakeland will lead category strategy development, oversee the Product Development team, optimize the vendor base to support differentiation and growth, and spearhead SKU efficiency efforts in partnership with Finance and Planning.
“For the past four years, I've led the transformation of our e-commerce business, driving digital growth and redefining what it means to shop with MacKenzie-Childs,” said Margaret Wakeland, Chief Merchandising Officer. “In this next chapter, my focus is on developing compelling product strategies and building the right infrastructure to expand our reach and deepen customer connections.”
Both Schrieber and Wakeland report directly to CEO John Ling, effective immediately.
