ABOUT TROPHY
Trophy is the world's only mature, fully operational, and combat-proven hard-kill Active Protection System (APS) fielded on armored fighting vehicles (AFVs), including main battle tanks (MBTs) and medium-weight infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). Designed for seamless integration with its host platform, Trophy delivers battle-tested defense against a wide spectrum of anti-armor threats, including Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), Recoilless Rifles (RR), and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs).
Since successfully intercepting its first threat in combat in 2011, Trophy has remained the only hard-kill APS in active operational use worldwide, consistently demonstrating its effectiveness in real-world engagements.
ABOUT MAF 2.0
The cost-effective deployment of Active Protection System (APS) technologies across multiple platforms depends on the development of standardized frameworks that ensure modularity, interoperability, scalability, and reconfigurability. To address these challenges, the U.S. Army established the ModularAPS (MAPS) Framework (MAF)-a structured approach designed to enhance APS adaptability and integration. By applying Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles to vehicle protection systems, MAF ensures flexibility, future-proofing, and cross-platform compatibility.
In June 2024, the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) and Rafael Systems Global Sustainment, LLC (RSGS) entered into a Contracted Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to develop a prototype of the Trophy APS compliant with MAF standards. Under this agreement, the parties collaboratively developed and refined aMAF 2.0-compliant design model for Trophy, integrated the system with the Vehicle Protection System (VPS) Base Kit (VBK), and conducted a final MAF-compliance assessment, culminating in a lab demonstration at GVSC's Vehicle Protection Integration Lab.
In less than a year later, Trophy stands alone as the first and only APS in the world to achieve MAF 2.0 compliance. This milestone underscores its technical maturity, backed by rigorous development and extensive combat experience, and its readiness for integration.
