Liberty HealthShare®, in collaboration with the Canton Repository, has established the Sharing Hearts Fund for Pediatric Wellness, a charitable arm of the healthcare sharing ministry that seeks to provide support to Stark County families with medical needs related to pediatric wellness. These important wellness procedures include physical exams, dental exams and teeth cleaning, vision exams and eyeglasses, and hearing tests.

Liberty HealthShare has created the Sharing Hearts Fund for Pediatric Wellness to help children in Stark County, Ohio.
“Our objective is to make it possible for families who have had to forego these important wellness procedures due to costs to move forward and provide critical checkups for their children,” said Dorsey Morrow, Liberty HealthShare chief executive officer. “We're attempting to find those families in our county who don't have other options to get these important procedures done. This is our way to be a force for good in Northeast Ohio.”
Families seeking funding will go through a simple application process during which they will identify their desired procedure and explain their financial need. The application will be accessible on the Sharing Hearts Fund website at www.libertyhealthshare.org/sharing-hearts. Paper applications will also be available at the Liberty HealthShare center of operations at 4455 Hills & Dales Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44708. All applications received by 5 p.m. on April 30 will be considered for funding in the first round of funding.
“We will put out a call for funding requests twice a year,” said Morrow. “We want to help as many families as possible as we believe in the value of these wellness procedures for children.”
To help evaluate grant requests, Liberty HealthShare has formed an Application Review Committee made up of Stark County leaders who work in fields related to the well-being of residents, including representatives from social service agencies and churches.
“We're proud of our community partners,” said Morrow. “This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in our region and we've received very positive responses to our requests for collaboration.”
All dollars to be awarded are generated through donations and grants which are separate and distinct from the operational funding of the Liberty HealthShare ministry.
“Finding a way to serve by supporting the less fortunate in our hometown has been something we've been looking at for some time,” said Morrow. “It's exciting to be in a position to launch The Sharing Hearts Fund during our 30th anniversary year.”
Approximately $25,000 is available for awarding in this first funding cycle of 2025.
