Since the start of the conflict in October 2023, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) has provided over $12 million in aid to Gaza. This support, including $7 million in cash assistance and $5 million in provisions, has reached over 600,000 individuals, addressing critical needs such as drinking water, food, and shelter.
The recently brokered ceasefire offers a vital opportunity to expand relief operations. HHRD is preparing to deliver eight additional containers of new goods and deploy 56 trucks carrying food, hygiene kits, and winter relief supplies. Since October, HHRD has provided over 13.5 million liters of drinking water, 1.1 million loaves of bread, and 170,000 hot meals, among other life-saving resources.
The crisis remains dire, with over 46,000 lives lost, 13,000 of them children, and 436,000 homes damaged or destroyed. HHRD is committed to scaling its efforts to address food insecurity, provide shelter, and support children in need of mental health and educational assistance.
Looking ahead, HHRD plans to intensify its focus on expanding sanitation facilities and sustaining food and water distribution in the hardest-hit areas. With ongoing donor support, these efforts will play a pivotal role in helping Gaza's families recover from unimaginable hardship.
