ICCBBA Expands Enterprise Grant Program: Total Funding Increased to $100,000 in 2025 to Enhance Global Patient Safety

Who is ICCBBA & What do They Do? ICCBBAis the international non-profit standards development organization dedicated to managinganddevelopingtheISBT 128Standard, the international information standard for the terminology, coding, and labeling of Medical Products of Human Origin (MPHO)e.g.blood, cells, tissues, human milk, organs. The organization plays a critical role in enhancing patient safety through the development and maintenance of thisstandard, as well as allocating globally unique identifiers to registeredfacilities. Since its establishment in 1995, over 3152MPHO organizationsfrom 77 countries haveregistered with ICCBBA.

Eligibility Criteria& RulesOpen exclusively to providers of MPHO transfusion and/or transplantation services that are non-profit entities, public institutions, and/or governmental agencies.

— Funds must be utilized exclusively for non-commercial purposes aimed at enhancing the safe and efficient provision of MPHO transfusion and/or transplantation services.

— Projects focusing on improving traceability, particularly in resource-limited settings, are strongly encouraged.

— Projects funded by this grant are expected to be completed within 12 months of receiving approval.

— All applications must be submitted in English.

— Applicants must comply with all relevant regulations and agreements outlined in the grant guidelines.

The Evaluation Process and Rubric ScaleEnterprise Grant applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Any unused funds must be returned to ICCBBA upon termination of the agreement.Grantees may request extensions in writing under specific circumstances.Grantees must provide written reports summarizing project progress within specified timeframes.
