AuthoraCare Collective Data Breach under Investigation by Levi & Korsinsky, LLP

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESS Newswire / January 27, 2025 / AuthoraCare Collective recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health data of thousands of individuals.This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to AuthoraCare.

WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?

On August 22, 2024, AuthoraCare discovered technical issues on its IT network systems. In response, AuthoraCare launched an investigation and engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the data breach. Upon investigation AuthoraCaredetermined that an unauthorized actor gained access to the company’s systems between August 18 and August 22, 2024. AuthoraCare conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and how many individuals were impacted. On October 21, 2024, the review confirmed that certain protected health data of up to 58,019 individuals was accessed or acquired in the data breach.

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected information may have been compromised as a result of the data breach: first and last name, address, date of birth, phone number, email, medical diagnosis, prescription information, Social Security number, and demographic information.On January 03, 2025, AuthoraCare started sending out notice letters and emails to affected individuals.Compensation may be available for those individuals who received notice that their personal information was compromised.
