Gerber Life Insurance Company recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of individuals.This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal information entrusted to Gerber Life.

On December 5, 2024, Gerber Life became aware of a security incident on its IT Network. Gerber Life launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. On December 11, 2024, Gerber Life’s investigation concluded, and the investigation determined that the unauthorized party had accessed details related to specific policies and policyholders. Gerber Life then launched a comprehensive review of the incident to identify the exact type of information compromised as well identify the individuals affected in the incident.

Upon information and belief, the following sensitive personal information may have been compromised in the data breach incident: name, address, policy number, and account payment information. On January 8, 2025, Gerber Life issued a public disclosure and started sending out notice letters and emails to affected individuals.Compensation may be available for those individuals who received notice that their personal information was compromised.
