On December 24, 2024, Denton County MHMR Center became aware of a security incident on its internal network. Upon detection, DCMHMR launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain data stored on its network for a limited time between December 24, 2024, and December 25, 2024
The impacted data may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, bank account details, dates of birth, treating physician information, and diagnosis and treatment records.
On February 21, 2025, DCMHMR publicly disclosed the data breach and began notifying impacted individuals of this incident. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal or protected health information was compromised.
