On October 14, 2025, Ellafi Federal Credit Union became aware of a security incident on its network. Upon detection, EFCU launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that certain files may have been accessed and acquired without authorization.
The impacted data may includename, Social Security numbers,credit and/or debit card numbers.
On December 27, 2025, EFCU filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine and began sending notice letters to impacted individuals.Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personalor protected health information was compromised.
