NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 15, 2025 / Gesa Credit Union recently suffered a data breach through its third-party vendor, Marquis Software Solutions ("Marquis"), This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal information entrusted to the Gesa Credit Union.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On August 14, 2025, Marquis Software Solutions, a digital and physical marketing and communications vendor for Gesa Credit Union, identified a cybersecurity incident on its systems. Upon detection, Marquis launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to Marquis’ network and acquired certain files from its systems.
The impacted data may include first and last names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account information, payment card information, and/or taxpayer identification numbers.
Marquis notified Gesa of the incident and began mailing notice letters to individuals whose sensitive data was affected. On November 26, 2025, Gesa disclosed the incident to the Washington Attorney General. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
