Veteran Public Health Leader Appointed CEO of NYC's Largest Public Health Nonprofit; Marks Historic First for the Organization
Public Health Solutions' (PHS) Board of Directors is proud to announce that it has selected Cassaundra Howell to serve as the organization's next President and Chief Executive Officer, effectiveJanuary 1, 2026.Cassaundra, who will be the first Black woman to lead the 67-year-old organization, willsucceed outgoing President and CEO Lisa David, continuing PHS' legacy of advancing health equity and strengthening the health and well-being of New Yorkers.
Cassaundra, a Bronx-native,brings more than 22 years of executive experience in public health,financial management, and organizational transformation to her new role. AsPHS'COO, she hasspearheadedkey operational and administrative functions, including Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, and organization-wide Change Management, strengthening internal systems to support PHS' mission and growth.Cassaundraplayeda central rolein improving PHS' financial position, implementinglean process improvements, and modernizing infrastructure to better serve communities across New York City.More information about her experience and expertise is available here.
