The case, United States v. Menendez et al. (Case 1:23-cr-00490 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York), marks one of the most consequential political corruption prosecutions in modern U.S. history and one of the rare instances in which a sitting U.S. senator has been tried and convicted on federal bribery charges.
