Built for the world's largest defense ecosystem, the Fenris robotic system enables command-and-control of multi-vehicle operations for critical battlefield tasks, accelerates decision-making, and reduces risks to personnel
Crow Industries, a U.S.-based robotics company, today announced its one-year milestone of Fenris, the first American-made dual-use Group 2 Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV). Fenris represents a significant leap in autonomous robotics for United States and Allied military organizations to perform critical battlefield tasks, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce risk in complex environments.

Within eight months of debuting Fenris, Crow Industries had secured its first military sale with the U.S. Department of Defense and continues to garner global interest from leading defense organizations, including within NATO, Ukraine, Israel, Australia, and more. The company demonstrated Fenris' ability to coordinate with teams of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) in collaboration with HavocAI, showcasing how land and maritime autonomous systems can work together. Fenris is the only U.S. solution in the critical Group 2 UGV category and has also received strong interest from over sixteen U.S. military organizations, including the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), demonstrating the urgent demand for unmanned ground solutions with outsized capabilities across the forces. Additionally, this momentum has translated into immediate Allied military demand for hundreds of Fenris units in recent weeks, underscoring its role as a rapidly scaling solution.
“Fenris has proven itself as the benchmark for American-made Group 2 UGVs by delivering breakthrough capabilities and operational readiness that support the U.S. military's next generation of tactical battlefield operations,” said Dr. James Crowell, Founder and CEO of Crow Industries. “This milestone reflects not only the strength of our technologies, but also the growing trust our defense and industrial partners place in purpose-built American robotic systems tailored for their most demanding missions.”
Fenris is a force-multiplying Group 2 UGV engineered for unmanned superiority to deliver unmatched tactical advantage while safeguarding personnel. It is payload-agnostic up to 500-lbs for a wide variety of mission scenarios, including one-way kinetic missions, intelligence gathering, remote sUAS deployment, human-machine integrated formations, and much more with both autonomous and teleoperated control.
Crow Industries has expanded Fenris' capabilities to encompass three new configurations: Tactical, Sub-Terranean, and Heavy Duty. They have proven Fenris in multi-domain robotic teams operating in underground environments, a feature already successfully tested by front-line military groups. Sub-Terranean Fenris, which is designed for confined and GPS-denied operations, gives defense and industrial teams unprecedented situational awareness below ground by maintaining uninterrupted communications where traditional systems fail.
“Fenris represents exactly the kind of breakthrough capability the U.S. and our Allies need on today's battlefield,” says Matthew DePuydt (Army – ret.), Chief Strategy Officer at GovSmart and former Chief Technology Officer at US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment. “As a leader who has seen firsthand the challenges of modern warfare, I can say with confidence that Crow Industries has built a platform that doesn't just fill a gap – it redefines how we think about ground operations as a whole. Fenris gives commanders unmatched flexibility, scalability, and lethality, while reducing risks to soldiers in the fight. It's the right solution at the right time that will shape the future of military operations.”
Crow Industries has been selected as a Finalist in the U.S. Army's highly competitive xTechOverwatch competition this Fall, where its Heavy Duty Fenris will be demoed publicly for the first time.
