This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to MAB.
WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
On January 17, 2025, MAB became aware of a security incident involving its internal systems. Upon detection, MAB launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to systems containing patient and consumer data.The impacted data may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state ID numbers, medical treatment information,health insurance information, and financial account information.
On September 5, 2025, MAB filed a notice with the Maine Attorney General’s Office and began mailing notice letters to impacted individuals. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal and protected healthinformation was compromised.
