Freedom at The Mat Brings Self-Love & Wellness to Underserved Women in Louisiana & Mississippi

Freedom Fête Women's Wellness Retreat held on Saturday, October 18 in New Orleans

Freedom at The Mat (FaTM) announces the lineup for its 2nd Annual Freedom Fête occurring Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Salon22 in New Orleans. During a month honoring multiple wellness causes – Breast Cancer, Domestic Violence, International Day of the Girl, Lupus, and Mental Illness, Freedom Fête is a one-day event destination for women of all ages, social classes & cultures to honor their health and wellbeing.

The 2023 American Psychological Association Stress in America reports 66% of people admit to needing more emotional support than they receive, while 58% of women cite family responsibilities, and 49% relationships as key stressors. And Louisiana and Mississippi consistently rank at the bottom of America's Health Rankings by State.

“Women, and people in general, are more stressed than ever given the political landscape, rising cost of living and job uncertainty. Freedom Fête is a one-day retreat for any woman short on time or money to intentionally pause, play, commune, rest her mind, nourish her soul and move her body, so she can emerge to live a healthier & freer life,” says Freedom Fête Event Producer/FaTM Founder, Olivia F. Scott

Domestic violence survivors and students receive complimentary tickets through partnerships with New Orleans Family Justice Center and Xavier University, while public ticket prices ($45/$65) are intentionally set to be affordable. Freedom Fête offers a variety of self-care sessions such as mindful movement, music, mental and emotional health workshops, doctor Q&A, self-love stations for massage, manicures and love letters, and a curated self-care marketplace featuring New Orleans women-owned wellness brands such as Wicks NOLA, Healing Herbs, With Ease, Primal Mama Organics and Freedom at The Mat. Mocktails provided by The Good Root Grove Co., and massages provided by Peace of Serenity Spa.

Featured Freedom Fête Presenters are Dr. Veronica Gillispie Bell (Ochsner), Shanda Domango Brown (Domango Training), Gladys Campbell (NAMI), Olivia F. Scott, Jaaz Thomas (BetterYou 365), and musicians Utopia François and Saint Mercedes.

Freedom Fête, produced by Omerge Alliances, occurs Saturday, October 18, 10AM-5PM at Salon22, 2407 Bienville Street, New Orleans. Full schedule atFreedomAtTheMat.com.
