Brain Boosts circulate and provide access to knowledge within Frederick's small biz community.
The powerful Brain Boost line-up for the remainder of 2025 includes sessions about marketing in a world where AI is changing search engine optimization and content discovery, how small businesses can receive help, funding, and promotion from the City of Frederick, staffing for small businesses, and avoiding creative burnout.

Brain Boostis a free monthly brown bag lunch & learn event designed to build expertise, catapult the success of small businesses, and ensure equitable access to a wealth of knowledge. From mission statements to marketing strategy, branding to business structure, topics aim to leave participants better able to grow their business or career.
Sessions are a mash-up of an educational talk and a mastermind group. The goal is to prompt rich discussion around the given topic so that people learn, not just from the speaker, but from the experiences of all those in attendance.
Brain Boost is hosted by the Cowork Frederick Foundation, which launched the program in May 2023 with “The Art of Getting Unstuck” and, with the generous support of sponsors, has been running continuously since.
Frederick's professional community is encouraged to attend the following presentations: In September, Art Lovell (Lovell Media Group) will explain how businesses can maintain visibility in an “AI world”. Mary Ford-Naill (City of Frederick's Department of Economic Development) will explain to the October audience how small businesses can receive help, funding, and promotion from the City of Frederick. November will showcase staffing for small businesses with Wayne Dorsey (The Safe Ride Foundation). We will end the year with a talk on avoiding creative burnout in the workplace with Bethany Good (Good Writing Company). Sign up at https://coworkfrederick.com/brain-boost-lunch-learns/.
