The invitational will bring together local leaders, supporters, health care professionals, transplant recipients and community champions for a day of purpose-driven play in support of organ, eye and tissue donation in Nevada and beyond.

As a Tier 1A federally designated organ procurement organization, Nevada Donor Network continues to lead with innovation, community engagement and donor family care. In 2024 alone, the organization facilitated 206 organ donations, resulting in 631 lifesaving transplants, while also supporting nearly 4,000 tissue, ocular and birth tissue donations.

With more than 100,000 Americans currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant – including nearly 700 Nevadans – the Golf Invitational serves as both a vital fundraiser and a powerful celebration of unity, remembrance and hope.

Mourning was drafted second overall in the 1992 NBA Draft and went on to play 15 seasons in the league. His accolades include being a 7-time NBA All-Star, 2-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 2006 NBA champion and having his No. 33 jersey retired by the Miami Heat.

In 2000, shortly after helping the U.S. national team win Olympic gold, Mourning was diagnosed with a life-threatening kidney disease. In 2003, he received a life-saving kidney transplant that allowed him to return triumphantly to the NBA. His ongoing advocacy for organ donation and his personal transplant journey make his involvement in this event especially meaningful.

“It's an incredible honor to be part of the Nevada Donor Network Foundation Golf Invitational in Las Vegas. As a kidney transplant recipient, I understand firsthand the gift of life that organ donation provides. Golf is a passion of mine and a game that can be used to build awareness, celebrate donors and their families and inspire others to join in the Nevada Donor Network mission. I'm proud to personally and professionally stand with this cause and bring more hope to those waiting.”- Alonzo Mourning

“This event is more than just a golf tournament – it's a celebration of hope, strength and life,” said Gordon Prouty, president of Nevada Donor Network Foundation. “Every swing supports our mission to honor heroic donors and their families, raise critical awareness and fund lifesaving programs for our community.”

The Nevada Donor Network Foundation Golf Invitational offers a full day of engaging activities.
