The Reading League, a national nonprofit led by educators and reading experts who advance the knowledge and implementation of the science of reading, named Marisa RamirezStukey, Ph.D., as its new chief academic officer.

A nationally recognized expert in literacy, professional learning and systems change, Stukey oversees TRL's academic initiatives, including professional development programming, content development and national partnerships to support teacher preparation and practice aligned with the science of reading.
As chief academic officer, Stukey brings over two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, higher education instructor and national consultant. She holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on teacher education and professional learning and a master's degree in reading education from the University of Florida.
She is also a National Board Certified Teacher. Stukey co-authored “Professional Learning Redesigned: An Evidence-Based Guide.”
