St. Thomas University Expands Statewide Impact with Naples Ethics Partnership Following Miami-Dade Agreement

St. Thomas University's Institute for Ethical Leadership is proud to announce a new partnership with the City of Naples Commission on Ethics and Governmental Integrity, its second major municipal collaboration this year. This announcement follows the Institute's recent agreement with the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, underscoring the growing statewide demand for stronger ethical frameworks in public governance.

“I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to partner the City of Naples Commission on Ethics and Governmental Integrity with the Institute for Ethical Leadership at St. Thomas University,” said Michael Murawski, Executive Director of the Naples Commission. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to promoting transparency and principled, ethical leadership in public service. I am hopeful that the Naples Ethics Commission can play at least a small role in the Institute's efforts to advance ethical governance throughout the South Florida region and beyond.”

The Institute for Ethical Leadership was established by St. Thomas University as part of its Mission to develop ethical leaders, and support ethical decision-making in public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Through research, training, and cross-sector partnerships, the Institute is actively equipping leaders with tools to uphold integrity and accountability across Florida.

“We are profoundly thankful for our partnership with the Institute for Ethical Leadership at St. Thomas University,” said Ignacio Jesus Vázquez Jr., Executive Director of the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust. “In a brief period, our collaboration has already made a meaningful impact on our shared goal of elevating ethical standards in Miami-Dade County and beyond. We look forward to working with the Institute on future development of initiatives to promote ethical governance and cultivate integrity in our community.”

Building on the momentum of these strategic partnerships, the Institute is already in discussions with additional city and municipal governments across Florida, with the goal of creating a statewide network of ethical leadership and best practices in governance.

“This is just the beginning,” said St. Thomas University President David A. Armstrong, J.D. “We believe ethical leadership is essential to public trust, and we are proud that cities and counties across Florida are turning to St. Thomas University to help shape a future grounded in integrity.”
