Prior to joining JustStorage, Mr. Payne served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Self Storage Plus, where he led a team that achieved a 50% increase in growth through innovative client engagement and strategic recruiting across operations, marketing, and revenue management. He also played a critical role at Life Storage, where he helped expand the third-party management platform from just four stores to over 450 locations, establishing a national footprint and a reputation for operational efficiency and strong client relationships.
In his nearly 15 years of leadership experience in the self-storage industry, including time with Extra Space Storage and Life Storage, Mr. Payne has overseen high-performing sales teams, negotiated complex contracts, and driven portfolio growth through superior customer service and long-term partnerships.
