New SVP Scott Love will lead new clients, including Earnest and Mesh, as well as existing fintech leaders such as Airwallex, Betterment, and Toast
Mission North, a strategic communications agency for the companies shaping our future, is thrilled to announce that Scott Love has joined as a Senior Vice President to lead our rapidly growing Financial Services practice. Scott's appointment underscores our commitment to delivering best-in-class strategic communications for our clients across the financial services and fintech landscape. He will partner with SVP Courtney Chennells and VP Danny Casarella on the practice's growth, and will report to Mission North's co-CEO, Tyler Perry.

Scott brings more than 15 years of extensive financial communications experience to Mission North, building powerful narratives and executing high-impact media relations campaigns. His expertise ranges across both consumer and enterprise financial technology brands, including PayPal, BillMeLater, Capital One, Ingenico Group, ACI Worldwide and LifeLock. Scott's sector experience includes fintech, payments, credit, banking, along with managing teams globally, accented by multiple, long-term, overseas assignments. He previously had senior roles at We Communications, FleishmanHillard and MSLGroup.
Growth and Momentum in Fintech
Scott's arrival comes at a time of growth for the Financial Services practice that mirrors the broader fintech industry, having added leaders in industries buoyed by policy shifts and market momentum. Two recent client additions include:
— Mesh, a Paypal-backed company powering the transition to a borderless, stablecoin-driven economy with its universal crypto payment network. Set to do for crypto what Visa and Mastercard did for card transactions, Mesh connects to hundreds of exchanges, wallets, and financial services platforms like Paypal, Revoltut and MetaMask to enable payments to be made with any type of currency.
— More than just a lender, Earnest is a financial partner to students on their journey from education to career. The company provides private student loans and student loan refinancing, alongside straightforward guidance and tools, to help borrowers build long-term financial well-being.
Mesh and Earnest join a portfolio of some of the most consequential companies across prop tech, wealth management, payments and expense management, including Airwallex, Betterment, Opendoor, Marqeta, Toast, Brex, Appfolio and more, with over one-third of the portfolio consisting of public companies.
“The financial services industry and regulatory landscape are evolving faster than ever, and companies need to communicate their value with clarity and authenticity,” said Tyler Perry, Co-CEO of Mission North. “Bringing Scott onto our leadership team marks an important step in the growth of our Financial Services practice. His deep expertise, client-first mindset and wry sense of humor make him a natural fit for our team and our ambitions.”
Earlier this year, our Financial Services practice hosted Mission North's fourth Turning Point Dinner, where communicators from Betterment, BNY, Marqeta, Jefferies, Brex, Public, Current, Empower and Tomo convened to explore the paradox of progress facing fintech and financial services innovators. The conversation yielded insights on overcoming 'FOBO' (Fear of Being Obsolete) as the fintech industry grows up and legacy brands seek reinvention, striking the right balance between innovation and values-driven leadership and navigating a fragmented and ever-shifting communications landscape to make an outsized and lasting impact on audiences in the attention economy.
A Partnership Built on Trust and Impact
Our clients consistently tell us that our deep industry knowledge and collaborative approach are what set us apart. We are proud to be a trusted partner to leaders across the financial services ecosystem.
“We partnered with Mission North because of their deep industry experience in fintech and AI, and their narrative-first approach to PR and communications,” said Lea Cademenos, Senior Director of Communications at Airwallex. “Airwallex is scaling quickly, and we need strategic partners who can move just as fast, bringing sharp perspective and decisive thinking. Through it all, Mission North has been a trusted thought partner and advisor helping us navigate the changing media landscape.”
