Led by Deborah Beck Busis, LCSW, the program helps individuals become healthier and gain a greater sense of well-being, empowerment, and life satisfaction. It's based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which has been shown to be effective in more than 2,000 clinical trials for a wide range of problems. Research shows that to make permanent changes in behavior (such as eating, exercising, sleeping, time management, and organization) and to feel better (less stressed, more resilient, happier), people need to modify their thinking along with their behavior.Ms. Busis teaches her clients to change their unhelpful thinking so they can reach their goals, feel good about themselves and their lives, and sustain behavioral change.
“Our coaching program helps people evaluate and respond to inaccurate or unhelpful thoughts that get in the way of establishing and maintaining new habits,” explained Ms. Busis. “We teach clients skills that motivate and empower them to make permanent changes in their lives.”
The Cognitive Behavioral Wellness Coaching program offers both individual coaching sessions and virtual workshops in a group setting, with topics ranging from coping with stress to changing unhelpful habits, with a focus on sustaining new healthy habits long-term. Group workshops are accompanied by optional group coaching sessions, providing participants with a supportive environment that helps them decrease self-criticism and teaches them how to immediately recover from mistakes. Recorded webinars, daily tips, blogs, pamphlets, and worksheets help jumpstart or revive users' wellness journeys.
As the worldwide home of CBT, our experts have been helping clients achieve psychological and physical well-being for more than 30 years. Instead of continually trying short-term fad diets or following the latest fitness trends that lack evidence of efficacy, our clients build lifelong habits, using techniques demonstrated to be effective by decades of clinical research. The program is suitable for older teens and adults seeking healthier habits, stress relief, weight management, and other goals related to personal wellness. It is especially geared toward those who have tried other methods that have not worked for them, including wellness apps and self-help books. Individuals who are using GLP-1 agonists will benefit from coaching focused on helping them navigate the body, appetite, and habit changes that result.
