In a significant step forward for first responder safety and public health, every patrol car in the Collier County Sheriff's Office is now equipped with aLifeVac choking rescue device. This milestone was made possible by a generous donation from The Cassata Foundation and LifeVac, and will be celebrated during a special event at the Sheriff's Office in Naples on August 7.
The initiative began when Rosario Cassata, Founder and President of The Cassata Foundation, visited LifeVac headquarters earlier this year. A part-time resident of Marco Island, Cassata was moved to support his local law enforcement and reached out to the Collier County Sheriff's Office to explore the possibility of donating LifeVac Kits.
After learning that more than 900 patrol cars serve the community, The Cassata Foundation stepped in with a donation of 400 LifeVac Travel Kits. LifeVac Founder Arthur Lih contributed an additional 100 kits to bring the total donation to 500 units, which were delivered last month.
Shortly after, the Sheriff's Office placed an order for additional units and carry cases to ensure that every patrol vehicle is now equipped with a device that can save lives in a choking emergency.
“This partnership shows what's possible when community leaders and innovators come together,” said Arthur Lih, Founder and CEO of LifeVac. “We're proud to support Sheriff Kevin Rambosk and the dedicated deputies who serve Collier County.”
The August 7 event will include remarks from Sheriff Rambosk, Rosario Cassata, Arthur Lih, and Michael Plunkett Sr., and will highlight how public-private partnerships can make a direct impact on community health and safety.
