Music producer and composer Marilou Audrey Burnel has been invited to join the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), the organisation behind the Juno Awards. As part of her new role as a CARAS delegate, Marilou Audrey Burnel also serves on the jury for this year's Juno Awards.
The invitation follows her first Juno submission in late 2024 and reflects her growing involvement in the Canadian music landscape.
CARAS delegates contribute to the broader music ecosystem by supporting peer recognition and helping shape the future of music in Canada through voting, governance, and jury service. As a judge, Marilou Audrey Burnel participates in the evaluation of submissions from artists across the country.
“I genuinely didn't see this coming. It's a bit like applying to a university and being offered a teaching position instead,” says Marilou. “It feels surreal, and I'm incredibly honoured to now help represent Canadian music.”
Known for her independent approach to production and an ever-expanding catalogue of house, cinematic, and pop influences, Marilou Audrey Burnel continues to work on new releases while also focusing on long term projects.
This concretises a new chapter in her continued professional development, adding another stone of community participation to her ongoing creative work.
