HomeExchange launches a vacation giveaway at State and Season's exact replica of 'The Holiday' Cotswolds cottage
As of today, HomeExchange, the global leader in home swap vacations, is excited to announce the launch of a giveaway in partnership with Georgia-based design firm, State and Season, to help fans of the 'The Holiday' live out their Rom-Com fantasy by staying in an exact replica of the cozy Cotswolds cottage featured in the film.
HomeExchange has been helping members connect with like-minded travelers across the world for 30+ years, but the company was first launched into the mainstream when featured in the 2006 Christmas classic, 'The Holiday.' In the film, Iris Simpkins and Amanda Woods famously swap places, from Los Angeles, CA, to the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom, and have the holiday season of a lifetime. Nearly twenty years later, we are thrilled to be celebrating our connection to the film by partnering with Lucy Small and the team at State and Season to recreate Amanda's iconic stay at the Cotswolds Cottage.
A nationwide giveaway – enter for your chance to win The Holiday in July
On July 14th, U.S. residents of 25+ will be able to enter for a chance to win a stay atThe Holiday Cottage. Designed by State and Season, the cottage is a nearly exact replica of the Cotswolds cottage featured in the film, set in the cozy capital of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Ellijay, Georgia (about 1.5 hours north of Atlanta). The giveaway will be open until July 25, 2025, and the winner will be selected shortly after. Terms and conditions will apply and all entrants must follow entry guidelines.
The winner of the giveaway will receive afree stay at the cottage on the weekend of December 5th through December 7th, 2025 for themselves and a guest(s). Nearly 19 years to the day since the film's theatrical release, the giveaway will transport the winner to the original Cotswolds Cottagethrough elements such as red Mini Cooper transportation (as seen in the film) supplied by Turo, the world's largest peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, and an Amanda Woods shopping haul gift basket. The winner will also receive a free one-year membership to HomeExchange, as well as other local goodies, including gift cards to State and Season and a local restaurant to personalize the experience.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with State and Season to help fans of 'The Holiday' live out their Rom-Com dreams,” says Jessica Poillucci, PR Manager for EN Markets at HomeExchange. “Nearly twenty years after the film was released, we still have prospective and current members of our platform tell us how 'The Holiday' inspired them to join HomeExchange. Although we can't promise our members that Jude Law or Jack Black will show up on the doorstep of their exchange for a whirlwind romance, we can promise endless opportunities for affordable accommodation, human connection, and the chance to truly travel like a local.”
A strategic partnership highlighting more thoughtful travel
This giveaway signifies a strategic partnership between HomeExchange and State and Season, a design firm that aligns with the company's core values.
Sustainability and local travel are near and dear to the State and Season team. As a B Corp Certified organization, HomeExchange believes that travelers should limit their impact on local communities. As overtourism continues to be an issue across the globe, connecting our members with less touristic destinations is more of a priority than ever before.
“The Holiday Cottage is an exact replica of the famous cottage from the movie,” explains Lucy Small, Owner and Designer of State and Season Home Design. “So, who better to partner with than HomeExchange, the website of choice for Amanda and Iris to trade houses in the classic movie? We're so excited to be able to offer this unique stay – everything about our Holiday Cottage is real, from the low ceilings to how difficult it is to actually have a bath. We're partnering with HomeExchange so that our visitors can experience staying in this home just like the characters from the beloved movie. There are probably few other better examples of off-the-beaten-path travel than this Cotswolds cottage from a beloved romantic comedy built to be a replica in the North Georgia mountains where the climate is actually quite similar to the UK!”
