On May 9, 2025, MCP publicly disclosed to theU.S. Department of Health and Human Servicesthat it had experienced a data breach involving unauthorized access to its internal IT systems. According to a noticepublished by MCP on its website, the company discovered unauthorized activity on some internal IT systems on January 16, 2025.
Although the breach occurred in January, MCP did not begin notifying impacted patients until on or around May 9, 2025, which may have violated state and federal laws. The company recently informed patients that the following personal and health information may have been stolen in the breach: names, health insurance information, dates of birth, and medical treatment information.
