Heifer International Appoints New Board Chair, Welcomes New Member

Heifer International today announced the appointment of Esther Cohen as the Chair of its Board of Directors and welcomed Alloysius Attah as a new Board member.

With a career rooted in service to the nonprofit sector, Cohen combines strategic vision with operational expertise. From 2010 to 2024, Cohen served as COO of Episcopal Relief & Development, the international humanitarian agency of The Episcopal Church. In this role, Cohen managed financial and operational growth that supported the organization's mission of partnering with locally led organizations around the world to advance lasting change in communities impacted by injustice, poverty, disaster and climate change.

Cohen joined Heifer's board in 2013 and succeeds Randi Hedin as the Board Chair, who served in the role for four years and will stay on as a board member.
