Bankers Cooperative Group, Inc. Data Breach under Investigation by Levi & Korsinsky, LLP

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / January 31, 2025 / Bankers Cooperative Group, Inc. recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health data of 14,000individuals.This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to BCG.

WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?

On August 13, 2024, BCG became aware of a security incident associated with one of their employee email accounts. Upon detection of the incident, BCG launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cyber security experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation concluded on August 28, 2024, determined that an unauthorized third-party may have accessed sensitive information from its email network. BCG completed a thorough review of the impacted data and on November 15, 2024, determined that certain personal or protected health information may have been compromised.

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protectedinformation may have been compromised as a result of the data breach: name, date of birth, Social Security number, and medical information.On January 24, 2025, BCG filed a notice with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights and started sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals. Although the breach notice was filed by Bankers Cooperative Group, the incident may have originated from one of the company’s vendors or business partners.Compensation may be available for those individuals who received notice that their personal information was compromised.
